hello!
neocities css doesn't seem to want to work right now so i'm typing this first blog entry just in notepad. i saw someone else make their own handwritten font and i've been thinking of doing that so i might have a look and try and figure out how. guess you'll know by whether this is in a handwritten font or not when i manage to get the blog page sorted. i think maybe i'd be able to use my trackpad to somewhat mimic my handwriting? i could just do any handwriting but i think there would be something really cool about it being my handwriting. cause everyone has their own handwriting and it's kind of part of them. i'll look into it
all of these entries are probably gonna be random spillages of thoughts so gonna start as i mean to continue. i've been playing a short hike recently, again that is, because i've already 100%'d the game because i love it so much (it's very short though, maybe
takes a couple hours to do everything but nonetheless). i do not particularly know why i love it so much, it's definitely cosy and warm. one thing i'll also say is that i fucking love the art style, it's 3d but still pixelated, like a 2d game trying to come off as 3d almost? that probably doesn't make much sense so i'll attach a screenshot from the game so you can get the idea. i really want to go into game dev as a job and, if i have the opportunity to choose, i would love to be a part of a team making games that have a similar feel to a short hike, also deltarune which is another one of my favourite games. i guess i'll see what i manage to find.
i have my maths and computer science igcses (i'm from the uk just home-schooled via an online school that uses igcses) coming up in may and june. pretty sure the dates are: maths paper 1 on 15th may, maths paper 2 on 2nd june, cs paper 1 on 13th may, cs paper 2 on 20th may. i might be slightly off but it's definitely around those dates. so far i know (almost) all of the maths content, which i've learnt throughout january, so gonna move on
blog entry number one!
to cs next (i think i've done about 20% of the content for it?). then gonna do sciences in november and english lit, history and psychology next summer, kinda boring though so i'll move onto something else.
a couple of days ago my mum brought back a dvd lord of the rings trilogy box set from my grandparent's house since i've been meaning to watch it for a bit but couldn't find it in any charity shop on dvd (i thought it'd be cool to watch it on dvd first, and also own it if i end up liking it which i probably will). turns out my shitty 10 pound disc reader that i bought to make a cd for my friend's birthday also reads dvds so that's pretty cool. i have a dvd/blu ray player too though so it wouldn't have been a problem either way. probably gonna watch the first lotr movie tonight or sometime over the weekend.
i also just finished seasons 1 and 2 of andor, i'm pretty bad at reviews lmao but it was really good i'll say that. i saw a video about s2 e8 and decided to watch it since i was meaning to anyway after my uncle recommended it
(he's a big star wars fan) and honestly it would've been worth watching it for only that episode. the show also made me realise that since i watched all of the original star wars movies as a kid, and haven't watched them for at least 3 years, i definitely missed and didn't at all understand what was actually going on and the point of the films, with all the nazi parallels of the empire and fascism etc. might rewatch them but i'll see
okay, think i've run out of vaugely interesting stuff that was on my mind and 3600 characters is probably a good place to end this first blog post, see ya
